The Year of the Snake gave the Philippines its 4 international titles: 2 of which are for the first time (Miss World, Miss Supranational), 1 for  5th time (Miss International) while the remaining is for the 3rd time and a back-to-back win (Miss Tourism International). And like the curve shape the snake suggests, the country got 3 third runners up for Miss Universe, Miss Grand International, and Miss Intercontinental. Alongside with these winners and runners up, we never failed to be included in the pageant finalists such as in Miss Earth and Miss Tourism Queen International. By far, 2013 is the luckiest year for the Philippine pageant history since most of the internal crowns went to our country.

Fortunate as it may seem, it would put a hard pressure to the ladies wearing their Philippine sashes in the international arena. Now the question is, will the Year of the Horse  brings us luck in beauty pageants the way last year favors us?

So let us cross our fingers for a more successful 2014 pageant year in the country.
